The Four Seasons is a non-narrative work created for Golden State Ballet, set to Max Richter’s Recomposed: Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. In this piece, the music serves as both the primary inspiration and driving force, shaping the choreography’s structure, texture, and emotional landscape.

Rather than following a linear story, the ballet responds directly to Richter’s reimagining of Vivaldi’s iconic score, exploring shifts in energy, rhythm, and atmosphere. Blending classical vocabulary with a contemporary sensibility, the work becomes a physical embodiment of sound — an abstract reflection on time, motion, and continuous transformation. A special acknowledgment goes to David Dawson, whose Four Seasons I had the opportunity to be part of during the creation process while dancing with Semperoper Ballett Dresden. Witnessing that process had a lasting impact on my artistic development and has deeply influenced this work.
