SKYWATCHER is a deeply personal ballet that reflects the life and spirit of my late mother, who passed away from breast cancer in 2017. Rather than following a linear narrative, the work traces the emotional and spiritual evolution of her life, honoring her memory and the countless others affected by this devastating disease. My mother was the love of my life—the person who sparked my dreams and the reason I became a dancer—and this ballet exists as a tribute to her enduring presence. Inspired by the Northern Lights, SKYWATCHER draws on their shifting, luminous presence as a symbol of her continued watch from above. The sky becomes a space of communication, where light, movement, and memory converge—transforming grief into transcendence and loss into an enduring bond.
